Along with the basic CD- and DVD-recording program Nero Burning ROM, Nero 7 Ultra Edition Enhanced includes modules for recording LPs; creating DJ mixes; video capture, conversion, and editing; photo editing; creating a personal video recorder; and file backup.
In short, it's huge, but it might offer several tools that you really need. The program has a 30-day trial and then costs $80.
Duration of ownership: 12 Months
Strengths: Audio and video playback is first-rate; video editing quite good, esp. as a DVD burner and track-adder; has never crashed; originally on Win Me, then XP sp2, then Vista Home Premium: ALL worked smoothly.
Weaknesses: So huge that help documents are a separate file/hyperlink. Still won't handle .mov files.
Overall Evaluation: Extremely pleased. I had Nero 6 as an OEM, bought the full Nero 6, then updated to Nero 7 on its release. For all the permutations both this software and my OS have gone through, Nero 7's stability can't be bettered.
